When it comes to car purchase decisions, while manufacturers and models can often be determined through online searches, the final decision frequently hinges on the test drive experience, making it extremely important. Traditionally, the process involved selecting a vehicle model, searching for a nearby dealership, and making a reservation to visit the store. However, due to semiconductor shortages, it's increasingly common to find that the desired vehicles are unavailable at dealerships, resulting in a lengthy and labor-intensive purchasing process.
Kobe Mazda has faced challenges with vehicle shortages that prevent test drives, leading them to consult us about creating a 360-degree VR test drive experience. This VR experience aims to facilitate dealership visits and assist in the decision-making process for purchasing a vehicle by realizing a physical test drive experience through digital transformation.
In the actual 360-degree VR test drive experience, participants were invited to physically get into the car and then wear a VR headset to immerse themselves in the experience. This approach allowed users to enjoy a realistic driving experience while experiencing the immersive quality of the virtual environment.
During this event, with the cooperation of Kobe Mazda, our company managed everything from booth construction to interactions with customers on the day of the event. Many customers who participated in the experience shared positive feedback, such as "It felt like I was actually driving" and "The interior looks great; I want it even more now." For families and friends participating in the test drive together, the ability to experience the same driving scenes simultaneously fostered conversation and empathy, making it a valuable content for aiding in their purchasing decisions. At ACTUAL Inc., we also assist with planning and exhibiting displays.
